Russian Drone Strike on Kharkiv Injures 15, Including Children

by Belinda

A Russian drone attack on Kharkiv on the night of June 12 injured 15 people, including at least four children, according to local authorities. The attack involved 11 drone strikes on the city, with a 12th drone failing to detonate, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed in a Telegram post.

The strikes targeted residential areas, educational institutions, kindergartens, and city infrastructure. Multiple vehicles were damaged, and windows in schools and homes were shattered.

This comes just a day after a similar attack on June 11, which killed three people and injured at least 64 others, including nine children. Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that an unexploded drone was found on the roof of a warehouse.

The attack also sparked several fires across the city. One drone hit a residential high-rise building, igniting fires in civilian cars and damaging the building’s facade. A fire also broke out at an educational facility in the Shevchenkivskyi district, Syniehubov added.

Russia’s continued attacks have focused on civilian infrastructure as part of its ongoing war against Ukraine. On June 10, drone and missile strikes in Kyiv and Odesa resulted in three deaths and 12 injuries.
