Russia Launches Massive Drone and Missile Strikes on Kyiv and Odesa, Killing Three

by Belinda

Russia launched large-scale drone and missile attacks on Kyiv and Odesa early on Tuesday, killing three people and injuring at least 13 others. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the assault as “one of the biggest” strikes on Ukraine’s capital in the ongoing three-year war.

The attack involved 315 drones, mostly Shaheds, and seven missiles, according to Zelenskyy. The strikes took place overnight, with the president calling on the U.S. and Europe for “concrete action” in response. He criticized Russia’s missile and drone attacks, saying they were louder than international efforts to force Moscow into peace talks.

In Odesa, a maternity hospital and residential buildings were damaged. The attack left two people dead and nine others injured, as reported by regional head Oleh Kiper.

In Kyiv, a separate strike in the Obolonskyi district killed one person, said regional head Tymur Tkachenko. He condemned the attacks, saying, “Russian strikes are once again hitting not military targets but the lives of ordinary people. This once again shows the true nature of what we are dealing with.”

Residents in Kyiv reported hearing explosions and the sound of drones for hours, marking the start of another deadly wave of attacks.
