ANRA Becomes First EASA-Certified U-space Service Provider, Setting New Standard for Europe

by Belinda

ANRA Technologies, a leader in digital airspace and drone mission management, has become the first company officially certified as a U-space Service Provider (USSP) by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Florian Guillermet, EASA’s Executive Director, praised the achievement. “ANRA’s certification shows what is possible with strict compliance and advanced technical skills. This sets a high standard and moves Europe closer to a safe and connected U-space ecosystem,” he said.

The certification followed a nearly two-year process. ANRA underwent detailed evaluations of safety, cybersecurity, operational readiness, and business continuity. EASA also assessed ANRA’s ability to provide U-space services while meeting strict compliance rules.

Amit Ganjoo, Founder and CEO of ANRA Technologies, called the certification a “landmark milestone.” He said, “This recognition strengthens both our company and Europe’s drone ecosystem. It has made us a stronger aviation organization, not just a technology provider.”

The certification covers much more than software. EASA examined ANRA’s safety procedures, cyber resilience, incident management, data protection, and service oversight. These checks ensured that ANRA is fully prepared to deploy U-space services safely and at scale.

Patricia Garcia Pastor, U-space Certification Manager at ANRA Technologies Spain, said the journey was challenging but rewarding. “Working closely with EASA, we built strong internal systems that meet high safety and reliability standards,” she explained.

With certification in place, ANRA Europe is ready to offer U-space services in multiple EU countries. The company is already in talks with national regulators and air navigation service providers. Official partnerships are expected to be announced soon.

Stéphane Vaubourg, U-space Project Manager at EASA, described the certification as a “pioneering and collaborative effort.” He noted that ANRA’s dedication to safety, security, and performance sets a strong example for future U-space Service Providers across Europe.

This milestone is more than just a company achievement. It creates a clear path for other U-space Service Providers to follow. By testing and applying a repeatable certification model, EASA has laid the foundation for a unified, safe, and interoperable U-space system in Europe.

ANRA’s success supports the European Commission’s Drones Strategy 2.0, helping unlock the full potential of large-scale drone operations, including complex missions like Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights, across the European Union.
