Ondas Holdings Inc. has announced a $3.4 million order for its Iron Drone Raider Counter-UAS system from a well-known European defense contractor. This marks the first time the Iron Drone Raider will be used in Europe, strengthening Ondas’ role as a leader in autonomous aerial defense technologies.
The European defense company chose the Iron Drone Raider after a thorough review of its performance, safety, and ability to integrate with existing systems. The Raider will now become part of the government client’s security framework, playing a key role in its counter-drone operations.
Responding to Modern Drone Threats
Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas, highlighted the importance of this contract. He said that ongoing geopolitical tensions and the fast spread of hostile drone technologies have created an urgent need for strong counter-drone defenses.
“This order shows the growing global demand for autonomous aerial defense systems that can be quickly deployed, scaled, and adapted to modern threats,” Brock explained. He added that the Iron Drone Raider offers a unique solution for military and homeland security teams working to protect critical infrastructure and civilian populations from advanced aerial attacks.
How the Iron Drone Raider Works
The Iron Drone Raider is designed to automatically detect, intercept, and neutralize hostile drones. It can do this even against drones that do not rely on GPS, radio signals, or remote control. The system is made for dense urban areas and uses a drone-on-drone, net-based capture method. This approach minimizes collateral damage and allows for the system to be reused.
Powered by AI-driven onboard processing, each interceptor drone can independently engage targets and return to base for quick redeployment. This ensures constant airspace protection and a fast response to changing threats.
Growing Global Presence
This new European order follows several international achievements for Ondas Autonomous Systems. The Iron Drone Raider has already been deployed in the Middle East, while Ondas’ Optimus platform is gaining wider use for intelligence, security, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
To meet the increasing demand, Ondas is boosting its production capacity and expanding field support for defense and homeland security customers worldwide.
