Russia launched a large-scale drone attack across Ukraine overnight, damaging homes and causing fires, Ukrainian officials reported.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, drone strikes hit residential areas. Governor Serhiy Lysak said about 10 private houses were damaged. Several shops, cars, and a cultural center were also hit and partially destroyed.

In western Ukraine’s Ivano-Frankivsk region, a drone strike caused a fire at a local facility. The State Emergency Service confirmed that firefighters put out the blaze. Luckily, no injuries were reported.

In the Sumy region, another drone strike hit civilian infrastructure in a village. A fire broke out, but again, no one was hurt, according to local authorities.

Officials in the Kyiv region and the city of Lutsk, in Volyn region, said they successfully repelled drone attacks. No injuries were reported in either area.

Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched a total of 110 drones during the night. These included both attack drones and decoy drones. Out of these, 62 were shot down by Ukrainian defenses. Another 29 drones crashed before they could reach their targets.

This latest wave of drone strikes comes just before Russia and Ukraine are set to hold their first direct peace talks since 2022. The negotiations are scheduled for Thursday in Istanbul.
